History of Yoga

Yoga started in India three thousand to four thousand years back. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit language and means, to join or integrate, or just union. Yoga started, as far as we all know, as an element of India's philosophical system, but not everybody practiced yoga, and it hasn't ever been a faith. About 5,000,000 folk in the US do some yoga. Dance and stretching exercise classes sometimes have parts and pieces that come straight from yoga. If you go to a physical specialist, she may give you healing exercises that are yoga poses. The yoga you'll have seen on the television or taught at your local Y or an adult education class is known as hatha yoga, or physical yoga. Sometimes it's called the yoga for health. You will also find yoga being taught in an infirmary or medical setting. Many health pros today feel yoga can join therapy plan. Hatha yoga has 3 parts : a collection of exercises or movements called asana (poses or postures in English), respiring methods of all sorts, and relaxation.
